The Electric Fetus is easily the best record store in the Twin Cities. Sure they may not have that rare OOP Replacement's 7" you spilled coffee on and want to replace, but they have always had what i'm looking for, and whenever it wasn't in stock, special ordering with them is very hassle free. Best overall selection, very reasonable & competitive pricing, and super friendly & knowledgeable staff.

By far, the best record store in the TC area. The selection is the biggest, and the prices are cheaper than other similar-size stores in the area (Cheapo, Let It Be). The Electric Fetus also has a 10% discount on discs if you buy three or more. Not to mention they now sell used CDs too. The ambience in the store is also very nice. I love how the shopping bags smell like the store smells. It's a weird combination of candles and incense. If the atmosphere in the store factors in to how good the store is, the Electric Fetus would be at the top there too. Finally, the online store is easy to use. You can either have your order shipped to you or you can pick it up at the store (Mpls. only). Going to the Electric Fetus is an experience in itself, and with prices this good, you have no reason not to buy all your CDs there.

The "Fetus" has it all. Atmosphere, knowledgable staff, and wide selection of top notch product. It's the store you hit when you really have to have the latest release that you know the superstore dopes won't have in stock until weeks later, if at all. Great prices and multiple disc discount definetly a plus. Don't miss the Halloween Sale. Location is easy to find. Parking is sometimes a challenge but the reward is well worth the effort.

Their slogan is "Find it at The Fetus"...and they're not kidding. If you are looking for new CDs, this place can't be beat. I doubt any real music store anywhere in the USA could beat their Blues, Folk, Jazz, & Roots selection, and they are thorough on indie rock, hip-hop, club/dance, electronic, just about everything else. No place anywhere on earth can rival their cutout CD selection. The Used CD section is pretty good too. The staff here is tops- friendly, helpful, knowledgable. Special Orders are very organized & effective, and very often a clerk will be willing to "run downstairs" and find it in a couple of minutes. HOT TIP: The Fetus has three 20% off sales- Valentine's Day Week, Anniuversary Sale (summer), & Halloween Week. Many Twin Cities folks save up & buy new CDs only at this time- and save a bundle. GREAT gift shop too!

Great record store with an excellent selection of tunes and a friendly staff. I've been a customer of theirs for the last 10 years and they continue to get better with their choice of music. They also give multiple purchase discounts which no other record store in town offers, this guarantees they'll continue to receive my business.

Clearly the Twin Cities' top record emporium and one of the best nationwide. Excellent, deep selection of new CDs in rock, soul, rap, country, jazz, blues and other genres, with good local, used and cutout sections too. In recent years the Fetus has added some new and used vinyl -- one area in which the stock could improve. The 10 percent discount when buying three or more items is a big plus. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable, and special orders are handled well. This place is still thriving in the iPod era. Fans of good, wide-ranging record stores will find a lot to like.
